LARGE VEHICLES
The Road Traffic Act applies on the estate and failure to adhere to it could result in prosecution.
Drivers are to keep within the speed limit of 15 mph and parking is only allowed in the areas designated. Drivers are requested to be mindful of children and pedestrians throughout the estate.
Visitors are not allowed to park in any of the resident’s spaces (designated by numbers painted on the ground) and care should be taken to not obstruct other vehicles, fines can be administered by PPS for any infringement.
Owing to the proximity of the road to the cliff edge as well as the position of the water main, sewage pipes and drains laid beneath the road; there is a limit of 5 metres on the length of a vehicle entering the site and a maximum weight of 3500 kilograms.
There is a chicane on the road just beyond the shops to protect the cliff edge, and long vehicles find this difficult or impossible to negotiate, resorting to bumping over it. Unfortunately, this bumping can damage their vehicle, double their effective weight and endanger the cliff, so should be avoided.
Staying in vehicles or camping overnight is not allowed at any time of the year; drivers must adhere to the strict parking rules and must vacate the site before the following times when the main gate is locked:
7.30pm between the 1st April and 31st October
5.30pm between 1st November and 31st March.
